*** UPDATED JUNE 2018 ***
I’ve dined at Holy Guacamole Bali in Legian more times than I can count. In fact, it is one of my favourite restaurants in Legian. On my last two visits I roped in some friends who were all as equally impressed with this kitsch little Mexican restaurant in Bali. I first stumbled on Holy Guacamole in 2016 the day before Nyepi when nothing else was open. Our ‘go to’ Legian Restaurants were closed and we were wandering the streets aimlessly looking for sustenance. We were hot, sweaty and hungry when we found Holy Guacamole Legian. And we were so glad we did. If you are looking for a Legian restaurant that ticks all the boxes for a casual meal read on for all the details …
Holy Guacamole Bali Overview
Holy Guacamole Bali doesn’t look like much from the outside. Situated at the beach end of Jl Melasti you could easily walk past this open fronted Legian Restaurant without noticing it’s charms. Step inside and you will notice that this little Mexican restaurant in Bali is styled in the vein of every Mexican cantina across the globe. Think dark wooden floors, sunny yellow walls, pops of colour, functional furniture and a distinctly rustic feel. Holy Guacamole Legian covers two floors but we have always sat at street level. The dining room is compact but easily accommodated our group of 11 on our last visit in June 2018.
Holy Guacamole Legian Menu
The menu at Holy Guacamole Mexican Bar & Grill has all the usual suspects but I can NEVER go past fajitas. They are perfect for sharing when ordered with extra tortillas and Mexican rice. The chicken is always perfectly tender as you need it to be when eating by hand. The veges are lightly cooked to retain some of their crunch just the way I like it. The Mexican rice had a really good kick that lifted the whole meal. On our last visit our group of eleven ordered a great selection from the menu. Our table was littered with tacos, enchiladas, nachos and even a dessert or two. I’ll let the pictures do the talking on that front! Holy Guacamole Mexican Bar & Grill has a full bar and a great range of margaritas. There are six flavor choices and you can order regular them regular or frozen. On Monday’s they are buy to get one free and there is a different deal for every day of the week.
Other Restaurants In Legian To Try
Legian is not exactly Balis’ dining mecca. Legian restaurants struggle to shine against their glitzier counterparts in Seminyak just up the road. You won’t find fine dining but what you will find is well priced establishments with a much more casual feel. If this If you find yourself in the neighborhood here are a few restaurants in Legian to consider that I have reviewed …
The Best Mexican Restaurant In Bali?
Mexican Restaurants have been popping up all over Bali in the last few years and have peppered by Instagram feed. I have looked at just about all of them but I have not been tempted to stray from my old favourite. Why? Well price for one. Many are ridiculous overpriced because they have become ‘the place to be seen’, I’m not into that mentality and I would rather have great food at a great price away from the masses. At the end of the day only you can judge what works for you but do check out Holy Guacamole Bali and let me know what you think.

What yummy food! Mouth is watering now… It usually is those restaurants that look deceiving from the outside that produce the best food! To be honest I battled with local Indonesian food and usually went for the the reconcilable stuff! This place sounds just up my ally, will have to visit next time in Bali
